Brush Fire on Indian Brook Road

On March 22 at approximately 1319, the Essex Fire Department and Essex Junction Fire Department were dispatched to respond to a property on Indian Brook Road in the Town of Essex for an out of control brush fire.
Engine 5 and Car 9 responded with a total of six personnel to find a large area of brush burning which was spreading rapidly into the woods due to the dry and windy conditions.
EJFD and EFD Firefighters worked together to cut off the fire and place two hand lines in service to knock down the flames.
Crews worked together for over one hour extinguishing hot spots and overhauling the fire.
EJFD was placed in service after approximately one hour on the scene.
