Truck Fire on West Street

On August 27th at approximately 01:26 EJFD was alerted to respond to the West Street Dog Park, for the report of some sort of fire and popping noises.
Enroute, EJFD was alerted that officers on scene confirmed that there was a vehicle on fire. EJFD officers requested additional information pertaining to exposures or occupants and was told that the vehicle was well away from buildings and that there were no reported occupants inside, and that the vehicle was well involved.
EJFD Engine 5 and Car 9 responded and arrived on scene to find an older style pickup truck, fully involved.
Engine 5's crew quickly made the knock on the fire and extinguished all visible flames. The crew stood by while PD investigated and then checked for hot spots.
