Trash and Pickup Truck Fire in Williston for Ladder 3

At 13:25hrs on September 6th, the Essex Junction Fire Department was dispatched with the ladder truck for a mutual aid response to the town of Williston for a trash truck on fire at Casella Waste on Avenue B. The Williston Fire Chief called immediately for Essex Junction assistance due to a large volume of smoke visible upon leaving their fire station.

Ladder 3 and Utility 61 arrived to find Williston firefighters working to extinguish a fully involved pickup truck fire which had extended to a nearby loaded trash truck. Junction members were put to work alongside Williston members to extinguish and overhaul the fire located in the trash truck. Saint Michael's College Fire Department also worked on the scene alongside Williston and Junction firefighters. The Essex Town Fire Department provided station coverage for the duration of the incident.

All Essex Junction apparatus were back in the station by 15:10hrs.
