Promotion Announcement

On behalf of Fire Chief Gaboriault, the Essex Junction Fire Department is proud to announce the following promotion effective 01/01/2023:

Lieutenant Richard Smith to the rank of Captain.

Richard joined EJFD in 2008 and has been an extremely dedicated member ever since, achieving several awards throughout his time with EJFD and taking a very active role in training firefighters and responding to a high volume of emergency calls for service. Congratulations to Richard on his promotion, and we look forward to his continued dedication in his new role.
